Over 2000 years of rich history have shaped the cuisine of the idyllic Malabar coastal
region of India. During the decades of the old spice trade, settlers from the Arab
world, Portugal, Turkey, and the Netherlands helped create the delicious and unique
dishes we see in the modern days across the state of Kerala.
Mannil Rayaroth Abdulla could understand his homeland's traditional fusion of food
better in 1965. He started his mission to combine the best of Malabar cuisines with
western-style dishes like bread and cake, working day and night, starting from single
store to develop innovative recipes. As a result MRA Bakery quickly spread throughout
the entire region. Now his family is proud to bring Abdulla Saheb's creation to Doha.
